Rockstar Bingo Alternative: Music Bingo Pro Compared
Rockstar Bingo is a polished, phone-based music bingo app that plays your Spotify playlists. Music Bingo Pro is built for weekly bar nights: the songs are built in, players can use paper cards or their phones, and the price stays the same no matter how many people show up. Here is an honest side-by-side so you can pick the right one.

The short answer
Pick Rockstar Bingo if
You already pay for a business music service that works with Spotify playlists, you want every player on their phone, or you run big events with hundreds of players.
Pick Music Bingo Pro if
You run music bingo every week, you want the songs handled for you, some players would rather have a paper card, or you don't want the bill to grow with your crowd.
Rockstar Bingo vs. Music Bingo Pro
| Rockstar Bingo | Music Bingo Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| How you pay | Per player, per month: $3 a player for the first 100 (minimum 20). About 20% off if you pay yearly. | One flat price per venue: $45 a month, $35 for a one-week pass, or $250 a year. |
| Free option | Free plan for up to 5 players. | 7-day free trial. No credit card. |

| Player cards | Phone cards only. Their features page says “no printing ever.” | Printed cards, phone cards, or both. They share the same Card ID numbers, so you can mix them. |

| Host remote | Yes. Use your phone as a remote. | Yes. Play, pause, skip and check cards from your phone. |
| If the Wi-Fi drops | Players need an internet connection for their cards. | Downloaded games are saved in your browser, so a paper-card game keeps going. |
| Other games | Numbers bingo. | All 7 NSB games for $79 a month: music bingo, Name That Tune, pub quiz, trivia bingo, picture bingo, a survey game show and a number bingo caller. |
| Commitment | Monthly or yearly. If you cancel, you drop to the free plan. | Month to month, or 3, 6 or 12 months. One-week passes never renew. |
What a month costs as your crowd grows
Rockstar Bingo charges by the number of players your plan holds, so the price depends on your busiest night. Music Bingo Pro is one price for the venue.
| Players on your busiest night | 20 | 50 | 100 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rockstar Bingo, paid monthly | $60 | $150 | $300 |
| Rockstar Bingo, paid yearly (about 20% off) | $48 | $120 | $240 |
| Music Bingo Pro, monthly | $45 | $45 | $45 |

The music question
Rockstar Bingo doesn't play music itself. Its help center calls it a “remote control” for Spotify and says licensing questions should be pointed at your use of Spotify. Spotify's own support page says Spotify is for personal, non-commercial use and can't be played publicly in a business such as a bar or restaurant. Rockstar Bingo suggests Soundtrack Your Brand, a paid business music service, if you need commercially licensed playlists. Without Spotify, you look up and play each song yourself.
Music Bingo Pro plays its built-in songs itself, so there is nothing to connect and nothing to queue up by hand. You can also load a folder of your own MP3s.
Either way, a venue that plays music in public needs its public performance licenses (from groups like ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and GMR). Ask the venue if they have them.
What Rockstar Bingo does well
- A smooth phone experience. Guests join with a game code from any device with a web browser.
- It scales up. The per-player rate drops past 100 players, and very large events can ask for a quote.
- It uses your playlists. If you already build playlists in Spotify, you can import them and set start points.
- Free for tiny groups. The free plan has every feature for up to 5 players.
- Extras for events. Numbers bingo, a Jumbotron view for videos and a Sidekick view for a co-host.
What makes Music Bingo Pro different
Songs built in
270+ ready playlists by decade and genre. Search them or type a vibe like “upbeat patio party” into the theme finder.
Paper and phones together
Print cards for the regulars and put a QR code on the TV for everyone else. Card IDs match, so one check works for both.
Winner checks the room can see
Type the winner's Card ID and the TV shows their card with every song that has played.
Hands-free mode
Set where each song starts, how long it plays and when the title appears, then let it run while you work the room.
Keeps going if the Wi-Fi drops
Downloaded games are saved in your browser, so a paper-card game doesn't stop when the internet does.
More than music bingo
The $79-a-month Pro Hub adds Name That Tune, Pub Quiz Pro, Quiz Blitz, Pixel Bingo, Survey Showdown and a number bingo caller.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a free Rockstar Bingo alternative?
Music Bingo Pro has a 7-day free trial with no credit card. If you only need printed cards, our free music bingo card generator makes numbered cards and a host call sheet; you play the songs yourself.
Does Music Bingo Pro need Spotify?
No. It includes 270+ ready-to-play playlists, so you don't connect a streaming account. You can also load your own MP3s.
Can players use their phones?
Yes. Players scan a QR code on the TV and get a card in their phone browser, with no app to download. You can hand out printed cards at the same time.
How much does Music Bingo Pro cost?
$35 for a one-week pass, $45 a month, $85 for 3 months, $150 for 6 months or $250 a year. All 7 NSB games are $79 a month. The price doesn't change with the number of players.
Do I still need music licenses for the bar?
A venue that plays music in public needs public performance licenses (from groups like ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and GMR), whichever software you use. Ask the venue if they have them.
Is Rockstar Bingo a bad choice?
No. It's a well-made app, and it's a good fit for phone-only events and hosts who already have a business music service. Music Bingo Pro is built for a different job: a weekly bar night where you want the music, paper cards and price handled simply.
